Comments This white wine cultivar was developed by former UC Davis Professor of Viticulture & Enology Dr. Harold Olmo at the Oakville Experiment Station in Napa, California. The plant material underwent heat treatment at FPS in 1972 for 98 days and was ultimately planted in the foundation vineyard in 1979 as Symphony 03. Symphony 03 underwent microshoot tip tissue culture therapy at FPS in 2011 to qualify for the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard. The treated material successfully completed testing in 2013 and will be planted at Russell Ranch as Symphony 03.1.
