All Strawberry cultivars at FPS are tested annually for the listed pathogens by the listed methods.

Biological Tests and Pathogen Inspections Performed on Strawberry Plants
Herbaceous host index is done by sap inoculation onto: Chenopodium amaranticolor, C. quinoa, Cucumis sativus and Nicotiana clevelandii.
Leaf graft index is done by wedge graft onto Fragaria vesca x F. virginiana clone UC 4; F. vesca x F. chiloensis x F. virginiana clone UC5; and F. virginiana clone UC 10 or UC 11. (Converse, 1987).
