Description Originated in Le Grand, California by F.W. Anderson. Cross made in 1953 and selected in 1961; tested by Anderson 2T16A. Introduced in 1963 by Fowler Nurseries, Newcastle Ca. Considered the most productive and consistent almond cultivar in the Central Valley. Shows possible graft-incompatibility with 'Marianna 2624' plum rootstock (Asai and Micke, 1994). Characterized by interfertility with the Nonpareil, Mission, Ruby and Emerald; such interfertility being most desirable for a commercial cultivar of almond tree.
