Description David Ramming named this cultivar after Owen Tanner who was a technician with the Postharvest Quality and Genetics Research Unit for more than 30 years. Large fruit that's blue-black with purple highlights, light-yellow flesh, sweet flavor. A recent USDA release of a purple skinned cultivar that has been planted extensively, reaching 3rd in total production by 2010. The flesh is light yellow, firm with a medium texture. Harvest Season: Early Mid-season. Harvest Dates July 3 to July 18 approx for Fresno, Ca.
