Description Sapalta is a cherry plum that produces sweet reddish-purple plum-like fruit. Sapalta produces purple round fruit with red overtones and deep purple flesh; firm texture, tart tasting. A late summer harvest cultivar. Trees are shrub-like, will grow to about 15ft tall at maturity, with a spread of 10 ft, and tends to be a little leggy. Sapalta cultivar requires a different selection of the same species growing nearby in order to set fruit.
