Josh Puckett, an incredibly energetic and effective employee has announced he is departing Foundation Plant Services for a new opportunity with a respected industry partner. Josh’s daily presence will be sorely missed at FPS, but his influence in improving and modernizing the operations and processes will be felt far into the future.
Puckett has been instrumental in improving FPS through the establishment of rigorous standards and protocols used to ensure proper and efficient management of the clean plant operations. He has worked tirelessly to provide FPS customers with the plant materials they need, when they need them.
Puckett has provided a highly motivated staff with the training needed to operate at the highest levels of quality and efficiency. Marcos Arriaga, Field Operations Manager under Puckett adds, “Josh was a great resource for me. Not only did he give me a great opportunity to manage our field operations, but he mentored me in a way that let me succeed. Josh set standards for me to work with and taught me in a way where I’m able to better myself and do even more in the future.”
Over the last 5 years Josh has modernized operations at FPS including introducing advanced irrigation controls, safe pest management and maintaining a robust database to run operations. FPS programmer Karl Krist says, “Josh’s knowledge and understanding of the processes and the data were critical in the creation and success of our database. Because Josh was able to get the information under control, the entire staff and our customers benefit from the organization he has brought.”
Of all those affected by Puckett’s departure, perhaps no one is more aware of his contribution than FPS Director Deborah Golino, “Josh’s career with FPS has been a truly remarkable success story. He came to us as a junior member of our field production team, with a strong interest in horticulture. Over the years, he progressed to a leadership role of our field production, nursery operations and our tissue culture laboratory. His knowledge and capacity, along with his talent for innovation, has made his contributions to FPS immeasurable. He will be missed tremendously.”
We congratulate Josh on his move to private industry, knowing he will continue to strive for the best in all he does while supporting those around him. All of the FPS community wish Josh the best possible success.
